Our Story
Black Horse Kettle Corn began in 2023 with one simple idea — popcorn should be delicious, fresh, and made with ingredients you can feel good about eating.
We’re a family-owned business, run by Madalina and Harrison alongside their two young sons.
What started as a way to teach their children the ins and outs of running a small business has grown into a thriving venture with a robust online shop that ships fresh orders daily to popcorn lovers across the country, as well as a presence at farmers markets, community festivals big and small, and school fundraisers throughout Maryland.
What Makes Us Different
We believe simple is best.
Our popcorn is always popped fresh in small batches, using just a handful of quality ingredients. We never use butter, cheese, or artificial flavors or colors. Instead, we create bold, fun varieties with carefully crafted spice blends — flavors that are vegan-friendly, balanced, and never overpoweringly sweet.
From our Hickory Smoked Sea Salt Kettle Corn to our Cinnamon Crunch Kettle Corn, and even our Blue Butterfly, a blue corn popcorn, for a sugar-free crunch, every bag is made to taste as good as it smells.

For us, popcorn is more than a snack — it’s a way to connect with people and with our community.
We started Black Horse Kettle Corn to share a better snack option, but also to give our kids hands-on experience in building something meaningful. They help bag, label, and learn what it takes to run a business, one order at a time.

You can find us at farmers markets, school fundraisers, football games, festivals and special events throughout the year.
If you can’t make it in person, we’ll ship our popcorn straight to your door through our online shop.
